Dyna FX

The Dyna – FXR model from Harley Davidson is one of the most customisable bikes available. This is a firm favorite with Harley fans from all over the world. Traditional styling meets rugged durability and the cheapest prices for the Dyna – FXR can definitely be found online for both new and used.

All Dyna models come with a hefty 1584cc Twin Cam 96 rubber mounted engine, it’s an enormous amount of power, which undoubtedly scares a lot of casual bikers off. Harley Davidson have tried to keep its rugged and rough style whilst softening other aspects to make the bike more manageable by smoothening the ride, creating a new air cleaner and redesigning the six speed Cruise Drive transmission device.

Something Harley Davidson definitely wanted to keep though is the rich heritage of customising and styling the Dyna, the have done this by offering an open mind and an open palette towards customisation, thus allowing the customer to have their Harley exactly as they want it.

There are six models within the new Dyna family, all differ in style, available accessories and of course price. The first and cheapest model available in the family is the FXD Dyna Super Glide; you may notice that all the Dyna models start with the product code FXD.
The base price for a brand new FXD Super Glide currently stands at around $11,500; this model only comes with a solo seat, but with its silver powder coated engine and nimble handling at low, medium and high speeds make it an appealing choice for all motorbike enthusiasts out there. The FXDC Super Glide Custom is also available.

The mid-range motorcycle in the family is the FXDB Dyna Street Bob, arguably the most rugged out of them all; the enlarged fuel tank is mostly exposed, it has quite a low ride height and a ribbed solo seat. It deservedly earns its reputation of a ‘mean machine’; the Street Bob fans will have been very pleased with Harley Davidson’s decision to re-introduce the model earlier this year (2008). If you think the FXDB is for you, expect to pay around $13,795 for a brand new base model.

The FXDL and the FXDF are the next two models in the range and they move up in price also, but the priciest model in the Dyna family is the FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide, it will set you back over $17,000 but you get a fantastic machine for your money. With out-stretched handle bars raking at 34 degrees and 45mm fork tubes it’s a motorcycle oozing style and tradition, styled with the 105th Harley Davidson anniversary in mind, the FXDWG has a long and stooping design so you feel closer to the road.

There is no doubting the appeal of the Dyna range, it’s customisation possibilities heavily appeal to the hardcore bikers out there looking to combine the tradition of the Harley Davidson dynasty along with a roaring powerful engines which delivers great performance.
